The film was made as a tribute to the movement that inspired the –coro–fundo–Festival and as a way of presenting Latin American projects and influences to Rio's general public.
The film documents the third of the four editions of Recreo Festival, an electronic music event held in an abandoned school in Santiago, Chile. Built around the idea of celebrating local talent, the festival brought together about 3,000 enthusiasts and another 50 participants, including artists, DJs, performers, labels and party collectives, all strictly Latin American and mainly Chileans. The film analyzes the impact that this conceptual guideline and the consequent unprecedented event had on its local musical agents and the socio-political conditions they face as an independent scene.
My role I directed the film, wrote its script and co-edited it.
